Life

I almost forgot to post this card. It's been one of those weeks with work day and night. I think a phone grows out of my ear. This technique was a lot of fun. I have never tried it before but most certainly will again.  I stamped Elements of style and cut it into fours. Cut squares a little bigger of darker blue and rounded opposite corners. I also stamped my DP background. I have Columbus day off and think I'll use my time wisely and spend it in my craft room getting caught up with fun stuff.

Fall ScareCrow

Some days girls just want to  have fun and that's what I did today. Started out this morning with a good cup of coffee and a girly movie I haven't seen yet. After that my craft room (still in my jamie's) to see all the beautiful cards on SCS. Well I was determined to get this digi (Squigglefly,Marla Shega) and make a card based on a beautiful card by flowergal36. So, still in my jamie's I proceeded to play until 3 or so. This was a fine play day. Guess I should clean house tomorrow LOL.

CCC10 August

I didn't even have a clue until August 29th what I was going to make for August SCS CCC10. I have this stamp set from SU and have never used it. They are such a cute set I have no idea why I haven't used it before. I colored with Copic's and put Flower Soft for the top of their heads. I used Liquid Applique for the red nose and the white ball on the end of his cap. Did you know that RED Liquid Applique turns kinda pink when heated? It should be called PINK. So I cured that by using my red Copic and made it REAL red. "Word of caution, white can turn brown if you burn it...." I only did that once. Thanks for looking. =^..^=

TLC288, Shabby Flower

Well, what can I say but SHABBY. This is my 1st attempt at torn card board and shabby. I just thought shabby went with torn off cardboard but I'm not to sure how it worked for me. I distressed the edges of the DP and inked the card board. I then added hit and miss with the crystal effects and sprinkled brown and pink micro beads.I used a piece of burlap ribbon and inked with green and brown. I had real fun with a piece of pretty lace and made it look SHABBY with a pair of scissors. I made the flower with the SU ornament punch ( one of my fav. investments with my Stampin Up rep. Patty Bennett, see my fav. blogs ) and my cuttlebug. I used the I-Top for a matching center. Thanks for looking. =^..^=

BOO!

SC295, To Cute. Loved this sketch. I used a Penny Black Stamp that is so adorable, Copics and some new fluffy ribbon from Joann's. Thanks for looking. =^..^=

Hubby's Birthday

Finally. Yes I'm on my blog but mostly playing around. Love my Halloween music and background? I couldn't resist. I did this card for hubby on wood CS with daubers and stamps. It was easy and fun. Hardest part is the wood CS wants to keep bending. Any Ideas? I also did the post it note blackout around the edge. Thanks for looking. =^..^=

TLC287, My Flower Sparkles

Well it's been a few days since I posted. Been way to busy lately with life things and not fun things. I have although made a very lovely birthday card for my hubby which I'll have to take pic's of and post. Hopefully by this weekend. I think I'll lock myself up in my craft room and have food brought to me this weekend LOL, LOL. This card above I did for an SCS challenge this week that I couldn't resist. It's Sparkle Stained Glass technique. It's quite easy except for all the waiting for sections to dry before moving to the next color of glitter. I suppose more experienced glitter guru's can master this without waiting out the drying time. I stamped the design with Stazon and then filled in little sections of crystal effects and sprinkled glitter. For the flowers I used a toothpick to spread out the crystal effects in the center so I could use a darker pink and then a lighter pink for the edges. I also used two different greens on the leaves. I made a mistake :( on SCS when describing how many colors I used on the flowers as it was actually four. I didn't have lace to match and liked this white lace so I made a concoction of alcohol ink and what I stamped on the lace and mushed in a small bowl with water. Turned out looking like tea dyed, might have just been easier to get a tea bag outta the kitchen huh :). Thanks for looking.

FS183-Yellow Rose

I almost forgot to post a challenge from last week. It's so pretty I've just been showing it off to my friends he he. I had so much fun doing this challenge (featured stamper) but it is very hard to pick a card to case from her as they are all so beautiful. I used a 1998 SU stamp I've had for a long time. Think I got from eBay. I also used a new technique I learned from one of my favorite card makers (lovelightandpeace) using corner punches. Thanks for looking. =^..^=

WT283, Fall

I made this card a little larger in picture so you could see the details, hopefully. I used flower soft on the trees and two leaf and a pumpkin buttons. I figured out on this shiny CS  that if I put to much ink I can just use a baby wipe to lighten it up. It worked great. I just love that paper from Me & My Big Ideas. I'll need to get more of that. You wouldn't actually know that I was asleep when I made this card LOL. Well halfway. Posted at 2:30 AM....eeks. Maybe that's when I do my best work.

Thanks So Much

SCS293, Another card sketch today. Oh how I agonized about this one all night. Finally went to bed not knowing what I was going to put on the front panel and then "Click" I thought just stamp on it with my new favorite stamp set, Watercolor Trio from SU. This set has got to be the most used set in history right now. I just love it as I'm sure a lot of other stampers out there do to. I kinda thought I could have used a different ribbon but didn't have anything that would match. Thanks for looking. =^..^=

SC292, Birthday Wishes

I am new to this challenge forum on SCS and really enjoyed the challenge. I used my SU Waterclor Trio and just love this stamp. I colored the stamp with Marvy Brush markers in three colors. DP used is Basic Grey Kioshi. Thanks for looking. =^..^=

TLC284, Friend

Another Plaid Technique card.

TLC284, Autumn

Here is one of my challenge cards to SCS Plaid Silhouette technique. I had a lot of fun with this technique and have made more than one card. With this leaf set from CTMH I covered them with Crystal Effects which made them curl natural and give them a shiny finish. Background paper is Basic Grey. Thanks for looking. =^..^=

Fluffles Full

July CCC10 SCS 2010 Christmas Card Challenge. I just love my Fluffles stamps by Stampendous.  This was a fun card to color . I used the spellbinders labels nine and lifted the frame a little with pop dots foam. I used a holiday cuttlebug 5 X 7 embossing folder for background and Provo Craft paper pad I had laying around. I colored with copics and made into an easel card. Thanks for looking. =^..^=

Holiday Cardinal

June CCC10 Christmas Card SCS. I am in this little group, well not so little, that is dedicated to making Christmas cards each month of the year to relieve the stress of trying to scramble them all up in November and December when we're all so busy. I actually shouldn't be posting these as family and friends are getting a sneak peek of their holiday cards. ( SHUT YOUR EYES ) OH well, guess I'll have to make secret ones. I used Stampin Up embossing folder Petals-A-Plenty and Two Step Bird Punch. I used a Nestie Blossom Two and MS Holly punch.  I used my Sakura Clear Star pen to outline the holly and put dots on flowers. For the berries I used Glitterdomes from HOTP. I just love making various birds with that bird punch. I have other cards on SCS HarietsMom. Thanks for looking. =^..^=

Fathers Day 2010

I couldn't resist making this cool card for Dad this year. I saw this technique on splitcoast and just had to case it. Of course I had to change a few things. Like I used the Karen Foster tool charms which are a little on the heavy side and then there's that cool cuddlebug folder I love using on MAN cards. I did cheat and use a sticker for the tool box as trying to make one proved impossible. I know there's no pic of the inside but it was just as cool with a pocket for a gift card.

Linda's Birthday

March 2010.  My dear friend Linda (who started me on all this madness) had a birthday this month and I had never tried a purse card before so here was my chance. I decided to use some embossing boards I had picked up at one of the many Scrapbook expo's I've been to. To my surprise they work pretty well after you get the feel for the direction your tool will go. I used some outline stickers for the bird and a gold butterfly. To see all the details please visit HarietsMom at Splitcoaststampers.

Daughters Birthday

March 2010. Here is the card I made for my daughters Birthday in March 2010.  I had a lot of fun with my punches and tried my hand at punching vellum. Pansies are one of my favorite flowers.

Mothers Day Card

May 2010.   This is the Mothers Day card I made for my dear mother this year. As always I was scrambling to decide at the last minute a card design or flowers that she doesn't already have (or at best a new design to wow her). I guess she's running out of shelve space. I decided to use some of the many Dufex decoupage layering flowers that I have collected and encased it under a plastic dome from flower soft. Oh, did I tell you my mom is one of my biggest fans.
Getting caught up on my blog will be the most important task for this week...ha ha.  So no one is confused on dates I will put a REAL date at the beginning of the post or at least let you know the occasion the card was made for. =^..^=

Halloween just around the corner

In one of the Splitcoast challenges this week is a Magical Marquee card challenge. I couldn't pass this one up because it looked like one of those things I had to try at least once. Well, it was a little challenging as I didn't have the exact punches to use. So, I thought I could use a nestibility just as some of the other gals had. Believe me when I say IT WAS challenging to change the format and use your own die. I used the nestie octagon and decided to go Halloween since it seems so close already. Of course I had to use my cuddlebug and folders also. Thanks for visiting.

Hubbys Hearts

This is one of my cards I have on splitcoaststampers (HarietsMom). I did this card for my Hubby on Valentines Day. When I was working on this card I had no idea how it was going to come out and was very surprised that everyone thought it was pretty cool. I had only used that cuttlebug folder once before on a card for my son and in my rush to finish my Valentines ( yes, middle of the night in a panic mode) I cut a 4 X 6 piece of shiny cs (also used red for hearts) and embossed it with this folder. I decided to try cutting it into smaller squares because of something I saw a couple of days earlier on splitcoast. I also decided to try a different kind of card fold that I had never tried before. I  then decided to glass the words I had done on the computer and cut out with spellbinders and then added gold micro beads to it. WOW what an imagination in the middle of the night. I kinda surprised myself. Thanks for looking   =^..^=
